Hollywood is famed as the capital of the film industry in the United States and worldwide. It is also a major centre of the U.S. television industry. The main thoroughfares, Sunset and Hollywood boulevards and Vine St., contain well-known restaurants, nightclubs, and broadcasting studios. The Hollywood Bowl, a natural amphitheatre in the Hollywood Hills, is the site of numerous cultural events. The night of the Oscar is staged here at the Kodak Theatre. The Hollywood Walk of Fame, the pavement in front of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre where the hands and feet of the stars are impressed in concrete, is one of the clue point of the area. Tree new stars are added every year and if you are lucky enough or plan ahead you may even witness the event. The first movie studio was established here in 1911.
